Hana Sunrise on a Wool Blanket

Romance Before Hallmark: Hana Sunrise on a Wool Blanket

The sun perched over the ocean; a lovely golden trapeze artist suspended above an audience in a slow motion upwards pendulum.  Plush, white cushions clustered below, should she slip.  We sat quietly side by side on a checkered wool blanket in the dew strewn grass watching her awe inspiring performance with humble appreciation and great love.  We did not speak for a long time.  The steam rising silently from our coffee mugs while the early rays reached us and  gently traced our uplifted faces was enough conversation for the two of us.

That beautiful moment shared between two lovers and Mother Maui was untainted. There were no sounds of planes overhead or traffic down the road. No televisions or radios blaring. Only leaves rustling as a playful breeze inspires them to give chase, the dainty laughter of song birds tickled by the same breeze escaping the tree, still untouched, and the waves slapping the shore in joyous laughter at the skill of it all.

    Hi Rita,
I got some fantastic photos of you at Koki Beach at Hana grasping for the rainbow. I sent email with one photo attached but no response so far. Did you get it? If not I’ll try to figure out some other way to send them. I hope all is well.

    Cheers,

    Tom T.
